Halloween Fright Night

The number one thing that I love about Halloween is Movie Night. After we are done with trick-or-treating we would pull out the sleeper sofa in the living room and pile all the children on it. I would be in the kitchen making popcorn and other holiday treats. The children would dump their pumpkin buckets out on the bed and begin sorting through their cherished candy, trading as they go.

After all the snacks are ready we would turn out the lights, get all comfy with dozens of pillows on the bed, and my husband will turn on the movie. Usually I am stuck on the bed in the midst of all the children, with them burying their heads into my shoulder when a scary part comes up. Then, one by one the kids start nodding off. Thank goodness! My husband and I can start going through their candy now. Yeah!

In case you are preparing for a night of fright, the Halloween Gift Box is a great way to go. Filled with popcorn, pretzels, candy and other munchies it is sure to make your night of fright a Halloween night of fun

Picking out a Costume

When I was growing up I never could make up my mind what to be for Halloween. I knew what I wanted for Christmas long before it became time, but with Halloween it always came down to the wire. I remember one year I guess I waited to long to tell my mom what I wanted to be and the store had run out of the particular costume I wanted. So I started sobbing and crying like most kids do and my mom told me to keep my chin up, so I dried up my tears and went off to bed.

When I awoke the next morning I found my mom in the kitchen working on something. Turns out she got an idea for a costume for my and she had been working on it since early morning. Mom had taken some of my old play clothes and cut holes in them, then she brought them outside put dirt and grass stains on them. That night before going out to trick or treat she put this liquid on my face, hands, and arms, it kind of reminded me of white glue, then I put my costume on at first I was skeptical. But after about twenty minutes the stuff that mom had put on my body started to peal and it looked like my skin was coming off and I was an official zombie. I grabbed my candy bucket and was on my way.

I’ve had a lot of costumes since then and in fact I’ve made my own children a few over the years but none as memorable as that one. So this Halloween get your ghosts and goblins together get them there Halloween Candy Buckets from the Gift Basket Pros., and see how many treats you can collect.

Halloween Gift from the Road

A child gets a package, wonders what is inside. He opens it, and notices it is a coffin. What could it be? Is there a skeleton inside, or maybe mommy and daddy are trying to play a trick on me.

So, the child very cautiously opens the coffin. There are bite-sized cookies, different kinds of brownie bites, and a frosted sugar cookie. The child squeals with joy. Mommy comes running in frantic and wonders what is going on. Then, she stops with a smile on her face. Daddy had sent their little munchkin a Cookie Coffin Gift Box.

Brownie Lover on Halloween

A friend of mine had decided to make brownies when she was invited to a pot-luck party one year. She is not a good cook and just to be on the safe side she followed the recipe exactly, or so she thought. All of our friends were there with their special dishes, having fun and dancing.
At that moment, someone had grabbed one of her “delicious” brownies and took a giant bite out of it. The next thing everyone knew she was running for a glass of punch. It turns out my friend had accidentally forgot to put in the sugar, so you can imagine how that turned out.
I love brownies, and so does my friend, so I had told her about the Halloween Brownies Gift Box from Pro-gift-baskets.com. She tried them out and told me that next time she goes to a pot-luck party; she is going to try to obtain a box

Halloween Enjoyment

When my brother, sister, and I were very young, we lived in a small neighborhood in Louisiana . My dad was working nights and my mom was working days. She would be so tired when she got home from work, but she always tried to make Halloween special for us.

I remember one year, my brother was maybe three years old, we wanted to go trick-or-treating. My sister wasn’t old enough to take us by herself, so good old mom decided to do something a little different. We got all dressed up in our costumes and went walking around our house then went to the front door and mom would be there all dressed up as a witch and then we would walk around the house again, go back to the front door and there she was as a mummy( wrapped up in toilet paper). We kept doing this until all the candy ran out. That was a very unique Halloween for us.

If you are looking for something to make Halloween unique for someone in your life have a look at our Halloween Fortune Cookie Baskets. The best part about this particular item is that you can use the plush Halloween themed basket year after year as a decoration around the house

Treats for the Office

At my last job, I made a lot of good friends, some of them I miss dearly. We had a good time together and it was almost like they were family to me. I was only there a year when my husband and I decided to move and I’ve been thinking of what to send these great people.
So I went looking around. I finally found something which caught my interest, the Mrs. Fields Fall Harvest Gift Basket. It had everything I was looking for, cookies, brownies, mini chocolate cakes, and it was package so attractively. With this upcoming holiday it was the perfect gift, and the best advantage to getting this gift is that it gives everyone that I miss the chance to have a little taste.

Pumpkin Carving

My children love it when we go and pick out the biggest pumpkin. We also get four smaller ones so that the children can each have their own. Then we go home, I spread newspaper on the floor in the kitchen and let the kids draw faces on their individual pumpkins.
My husband carves out the tops of the pumpkins and tells the children to dig out the “brains”. Our children love this part because they are able to get all slimy and gooey. After that, when the pumpkins are all empty, the faces get to be carved. Finally, we are able to put candles in the pumpkins and set them out on the porch to let all the neighbors see how creative our children are.
So, if you are feeling imaginative or if you know someone who is artistic we have a Halloween Gift Basket filled with all sorts of items. Like a pumpkin carving set, a flashlight, and besides if they get hungry the basket is also filled with yummy treats that they can nibble on

Halloween Pretzels

The first time I have ever had a chocolate covered pretzel, was when my mother made them in our kitchen. That first taste was just pure heaven. We would stay up playing cards and snacking on these delicious treats. Sweet and salty, the perfect combination for any late night snack.

Like all normal children, my brother, sister and I would fight over them. I would always count them out while we divided them up, one for you, one for you, two for me…..and so on. My sister would get on to me because of course she is older and knows better than that. We still laugh about those times.

At Pro-gift-baskets.com we have our Caramel & Chocolate Halloween Pretzels that would be a great gift for anyone. They are dipped in the finest chocolate, and one that I can’t wait to try, the rich creamy caramel. They are then adorned with Halloween candy sprinkles, to give it that special holiday distinctiveness.

Haunted Houses

During Halloween, my family likes to get together and put on a haunted house for the neighborhood children. There would be a fog machine and a spooky music recording. One year we dressed up as the Addams Family, my sister was Cousin It, brother was Pugsley, mom was Morticia, and dad was Gomez, and I was Wednesday. One of my dad’s buddies from work came over dressed as Uncle Fester.

After we were done terrorizing the kids, we always had a little party in the backyard (transformed into a haunted graveyard). We would have cookies, cakes, candy, popcorn balls all laid out on the tables, and ghost and spiders hanging from the trees. The games were great. Bobbing for Jack-O-Lanterns, musical chairs (had to have the monster mash), and pin the wart on the witch. Those were so much fun, and the children couldn’t wait until next year’s.

If you are having a lot of company this year, or if you have something planned somewhere else we have so many choices to choose from at Pro-gift-baskets.com. Here are just a few to take a look at, the Halloween Pumpkin Gift Tower, Mrs. Fields® Halloween Scarecrow, and Haunting Halloween Gift Box. These are sure to make somebody's Halloween extraordinary.
