Memorial Day Tribute

The Memorial Day holiday is known to Americans as "Decoration Day", which is a day of remembrance for our troops that died in battle defending our great country.  Although there are many claims as to where the actual birthplace of Memorial Day originated, Waterloo, New York was officially assigned the home of this time honored tradition back in 1966.

The purpose of Memorial Day dates back to the Civil War as a means to honor our fallen heroes.  This day is intended as a celebration to decorate the graves of those who died while fighting for this great nation of ours.  No particular war or battle is needed for reference, just the knowledge that our men and women that fought for the United States of America and have lost their lives, are continually honored in the long standing tradition.

In 1971, Congress passed the National Holiday Act establishing a three day weekend which occurs on the last Monday of each May.  This established a Federal Holiday that is now celebrated as the unofficial start of summer.  We celebrate today with weekend grill parties, patriotic gifts, kids splashing in pools, and our American flags waving high.  And although we throw parties and barbecue with friends and family, we will never forget the ultimate sacrifice that each fallen hero has made.

Fantastic Fourth

Okay so the title is kind of corny, but it will get my message across. Fourth of July is only nine days away and hopefully you have everything that you need to celebrate the best Fourth of July you ever had. Now I know that some people canʼt be with their families because it is only one day a year that we get to go crazy with fireworks. Wait Iʼm sorry, only two days, but on New Yearʼs you get the next day off from work usually. If your family is really big into celebrating this patriotic holiday send them something to remind them of the good times that you had when you were young.

Now this gift doesnʼt have to be anything extravagant, but for an example, the Mrs. Beasley's Patriotic Cookie Canister would probably be a good choice. This red, white, and blue canister will leave the feeling of patriotism in many peoples hearts, and the delicious chocolate chip and lemon cookies will leave a very satisfied feeling in their stomachs. Enjoy this holiday with family and friends even if you canʼt be there to celebrate it with them.

Independence Day

Fourth of July is the day that the United States had gotten their freedom from Great Britain, back in 1776. Nowadays, we celebrate with fireworks, barbecues, and parties with family and friends. Almost every city in the U.S. puts on a spectacular fireworks show for the people who cannot have fireworks on their properties, because of the closeness of homes. Plan something great with your friends and neighbors, enjoy the gift that the people of 1776 have given to us.

If you have gotten invited to a pot-luck party for Fourth of July, and have no idea what to bring, then check out The Gift Basket Pros. Patriotic Gift Box. This gift has enough goodies to feed an army (not really). Seriously is does have many snacks to feed a small group of people, and it will be enjoyed by everyone of them. So, celebrate this coming holiday with fun, food, and friends.
